Improved electricity: Distribution Company boss gets title from Bauchi Emirate
 
Impressed by the ``vast improvement in power supply’’ to Bauchi town, the Bauchi Emirate has given a traditional title to Mrs Vera Osuhor, the Managing Director, Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC).
The head of the company which supplies electricity to Bauchi and three other states – Plateau, Gombe and Benue was turbaned as the ``Jakadiyyar Chiroman Bauchi’’ on Sunday in Bauchi,
Bakaro Bauchi, Alhaji Nuru Jumba, at the turbanning ceremomy, said that the title, which means the ``Ambassador’’, was ``an expression of the value attached to the contributions of this rare gem to the people of Bauchi State’’.
``It is bestowed to a trusted ally; it is a mark of absolute trust and respect to the occupant. The title is well deserved; it is an attempt to foster unity among Nigerians, and also reward hard work,’’ Jumba said.
In her remarks, Osuhor thanked the Bauchi people for the honour over the services delivered by the company ``even though the services may not be the best in the circumstances.
