The Distance Learning Institute (DLI) public lecture which was to hold on 11 January, 2012 could not hold due to the National Strike that took place. Consequently, the Lecture has been re-scheduled to hold on Tuesday 28th February, 2012 at 10.00a.m. In Julius Berger Lecture Theatre. The proposed Topic of the Lecture is: OPEN AND DISTANCE LEARNING: AN IMPERATIVE TOOL FOR EDUCATIONAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA. The Guest Lecturer is: Prof. Emeritus Ayo Banjo (CON, FNAL) The concept of the Lecture is to showcase the University of Lagos Distance Learning Institute as a foremost and internationally acclaimed Institute that has been in the vanguard of providing diversified, innovative and cost effective mode of University education to a teeming members of the populace who could not have had opportunity of University Education in Nigeria.
