UNILAG GETS NEW DEPUTY VICE-CHANCELLOR (ACADEMIC & RESEARCH)

WELCOME ON BOARD TO THIS YEAR RESIDENTIAL PERIOD.

This period is always a memorable and an historic one in Distance Learning Institute. It is a period where all the students move into the campus for a period of 6 weeks (4 weeks lecture and 2 weeks exam). This year residential period will commence on Saturday, 13th August and end on Saturday, October 1st, 2011.
Actually, the period ought to be 4 weeks but it has been extended to 6 weeks due to the weeks we lost to the electioneering period in Nigeria and the masters’ entrance exam.
WHAT ARE YOU EXPECTED TO DO DURING THIS RESIDENTIAL PERIOD?
    If you are an employee, plan your annual vacation towards this period.
    Pay your school fees before the expiry date so that hall of residence could be allocated to you.
    You are not expected to come to your halls of residence with any electrical gadget.
    Ensure you are present in class as tests and other assignments are done during this period.
    Use a new note book for all residential lectures as lecturers test students MOSTLY on the lectures delivered during this period in examination.
    Work mostly on past questions during examination as lecturers often repeat questions.
    Note that most of DLI Examination questions are based on theories and multiple choices (Objectives).
    NOTE importantly that in DLI examination, multiple choice questions (OBJ) carry higher marks than theories. It MIGHT be 70 percent for OBJ and 30 percent for theories while some courses are even OBJ throughout especially the zero unit courses like GAS, GST, etc.
    Watch out and participate in all the activities coming up during this residential period. They include DLISA award night, Mr & Miss DLI beauty pageant and sporting events.

Happy residential stay.
